Linda F. Powell

Linda F. Powell is the Enterprise head of data governance and deputy chief data officer at Bank of NY Mellon. She has over 20 years of experience in the finance industry including commercial banking, banking supervision, and supporting economic research. She spent most of her career with the Federal Reserve System. She was also the Chief data officer at the Treasury Department’s office of financial research and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In 2018 she joined Citibank as the Global head of data governance, data reporting, and end user computing and joined Bank of NY Mellon in 2021. She has published several papers on the topics of data standards, metadata, and data strategy. She has a B.A. in economics from Rutgers University and an M.S. in quantitative finance from George Washington University.

Chris also served as Director of Business Consulting at Sapient Global Markets from 2009 to 2017. Here, he played a key role in helping clients adapt to market structure changes driven by regulatory reforms such as Dodd-Frank and MiFID II.
His earlier career includes roles at Capco, New York Metro ISSA, Ernst & Young LLP, Qualys, and Cybertrust, where he gained extensive experience in risk assessments, compliance, and cybersecurity. Chris began his career as a Senior IT Administrator at Cybernet Systems Corporation, managing IT infrastructure and security for the organization.

Since joining SG in 2009, he has held a range of positions. Currently, he is the Chief Data Officer, SG Americas, with responsibility for data management and governance within the Region. This function is responsible for implementing the requirements of BCBS 239, establishing sound data governance framework that meets Group needs and local supervisory expectations, and creating a solid platform for the data to be leveraged for strategic business decisions. Prior to that, he headed up the Project Management Office for the SG US Transformation project. SG roles before that included Deputy CFO of the Americas Region of their Corporate & Investment Bank and Head of Finance Offshoring in SG Bangalore.
Prior to joining SG, Bala was with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) for fourteen years in a range of positions in Toronto and New York. As Senior Vice President of the Wholesale North America Finance, he headed up the controllership function for CIBC’s World Markets and Treasury & Risk Management Strategic Business Units within North America. With a global team across Toronto and New York, he was responsible for establishing a SOX-compliant industry-leading Finance control environment as well as supporting the efficient execution of business initiatives and managing the Finance related US regulatory relationships during a very demanding period. Prior to that, he also had stints as the business-line controller for the Bank's US origination businesses (Corporate Lending, Investment Banking, Merchant Banking, Structured Finance, and High Yield), as well as the 2/ic to the Chief Accountant, with responsibility for consolidated financial, management and regulatory reporting at the corporate level.
Born and brought up in Mumbai India, Bala has a degree in mathematics from the University of Mumbai and holds professional accounting qualifications from both India and the United States. He lives in Montclair, New Jersey is married with two children, and enjoys long-distance running.

Prior to joining BlackRock in 2004, Mr. Rosato was with Jennison Associates, LLC where he was responsible for establishing and managing the firms Retail Separately Managed Account Trading and Operations Teams. He performed similar roles for 1838 Investment Advisors and Rittenhouse Financial Services, and worked as an Equity Specialist Clerk and Foreign Exchange Options Floor Broker for Dean Witter Reynolds on the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. He began his career in 1987 as an Operations Analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia.
Mr. Rosato is a Board Member of ISITC, and Chairperson of the Investment Company Institute Securities Operations Advisory Committee. He is a Member of the SIFMA Operations and Technology Committee and Chairperson of the AMF Operations Leadership Committee, and active participant and Co-Chair of several ISITC, SWIFT, FIA and FIX Trading Community Committees and Industry Working Groups. He previously represented BlackRock on the OMGEO Regional Advisory Council in the Americas. He earned a BS degree in Business Administration from Widener University.

Roger Burkhardt is a seasoned CTO, CDAO, CEO with twenty years’ experience leading technology transformations. He has a track record in mission critical trading systems technology and accelerating value capture from AI . Roger’s broad industry expertise includes financial services, energy with broad technology experience spanning innovations in AI, big data, agile, mobile, cloud and user experience.
Prior to joining Broadridge in November 2021 he spent four years as the co-lead of McKinsey’s AI practice for financial services driving large scale programs in top 4 financial institutions in US and Europe. Before McKinsey, Roger was the CTO of OpenLink Technologies (now part of ION) the largest provider of energy and derivatives processing platforms. Prior to this he founded the CDO role at the NY Federal Reserve Bank and was CEO of Ingres Corporation, a data and analytics company in Silicon Valley.
Prior to Ingres, Roger was CTO and EVP at the NYSE where he designed and led the historic digital transformation from floor-based to electronic trading. Before his time at the NYSE, Roger was President at OptiMark Technologies an early “dark pool “ optimizing block trading in US Equities.
