John Bottega

John Bottega is a senior strategy and data management executive with more than 30 years of experience in the industry.  As the former Chief Data Officer at Bank of America, John was responsible for driving the enterprise data management strategy for the firm.  This included championing the data management policy and standards, establishing and operationalizing data governance, working with technology to define the data platform, infrastructure and tool simplification, and supporting the bank's data scientist team in their efforts to drive improved information analytics.


Before coming to Bank of America John was the Chief Data Officer for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY) where he worked with domestic and foreign regulators on financial sector data management and data quality.  While at FRBNY, John led the effort to define and establish a new international data standard known as the LEI (Legal Entity Identifier), a global standard for unique organizational identification, key to enabling and strengthening system risk analysis in support of global financial stability.  During his time at FRBNY, Bottega also served as a Senior Advisor to the Director of the Office of Financial Research (OFR), an agency established by the Dodd-Frank Act within the US Department of the Treasury, responsible for analysis and monitoring of industry-wide systemic risk.  

Prior to joining the Federal Reserve Bank, Bottega was Chief Data Officer for Citigroup's Corporate and Investment Banking group where he defined their data management improvement strategy and roadmap. While working with Citigroup he led an effort that reduced the bank’s BASEL capital risk exposure through improved data quality initiatives, and resulted in significant bottom line savings to the firm.  Prior to Citigroup, he worked for other financial institutions including Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers.


Bottega currently serves as the Executive Director of the Enterprise Data Management Council (EDMC) and is a member of the Executive Advisory Board of NewVantage Partners. 

Doris Brophy

Doris Brophy joined Société Générale in 2016 as the Director of Data Governance & Standards for the Americas.  Prior to Société Générale, Doris had over 25 years in the Financial Services Industry on both the buy side and sell side.  Doris has an extensive Technology and Data Background. In her prior role at a large Asset Management organization, Doris served as Domain Executive for the Chief Data Office for the Business Products and Services Data Domain.  Doris has also held positions as CIO of a hedge fund, CIO of Debt Capital Markets at a large broker dealer and COO of Technology for Equity and Electronic Trading.  Doris began her career programming innovative market data solutions, complex options models, trading systems, and global networking solutions.  Doris was an early adopter and influencer of client server, SBA (Service Based Architecture) solutions, thin client, browser deployment and process re-engineering.

Doris Brophy earned her B.A. in Computer Science and Economics with a concentration in Mathematics from Hiram College.  She studied graduate Economics at Rutgers university and was a judge for the MIT Sloan School of Business CIO of the year award from 2009 through 2016.

Welcome Chan is the Head of Technology Risk Management of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (Asia) Limited (ICBC(Asia)).  With his capacity, he is responsible for ensuring the ICBC(Asia)’s information security policies, technology risk matters to ensure the adherence of regulatory and compliance requirements.  He also plays a key role on information and cyber security risk matters of the bank and provides security advises to businesses, projects, IT infrastructure and application reviews to alleviate the potential security risks.  Prior to joining the ICBC(Asia), he was the Security Manager of CMB Wing Lung Bank, Assistant Vice President of IT Security of China CITIC Bank International, the Information Security Manager of Bank of Communications, Hong Kong Branch, and had held different IT audit management and Security roles of listed companies and manufacturing enterprises.

Welcome holds an MBA degree from the Hong Kong University of Science Technology (HKUST), and a Bachelor Degree of Electronic and Communications Engineering from The University of Hong Kong.  Welcome is also a qualification holder of CISA, CISM, CISSP, CSSLP, CGEIT, CRISC, CCNP, CREST CPSA, CRT and IRCA ISO27001 ISMS Lead Auditor.

Peili Chang

Peili is a multi-lingual (hyper-polyglot) and inter-culturally experienced senior executive in the insurance industry. He is currently the Chief Data Officer of AXA Philippines but also Chief Actuary for their P&C Business, in charge to lead the data driven transformation of the company while leading the actuarial functions.

Prior to that, Peili was Chief Technical Officer / Chief Actuary & Underwriting in AXA Philippines (2016-2017) and AXA Indonesia (2012-2015), with supervision on actuarial & data analytics, product development, underwriting and claims management at different time. He managed various teams with very different profiles: geographically, culturally and functionally.

Peili started his career in France as Life Actuary in Allianz (internships) and AXA, before moving to P&C insurance as reinsurance Actuary. In total, he has a 15 year experience mainly in operational roles across mature and emerging markets, serving both Retail and Corporate customer segments with life and non-life insurance.

Peili was born in China, raised up there before migrating to France at the age of 13 to join his parents. He is a typical economic migrant from grassroots, worked outside school time in his parents' restaurant and McDonald's to support the family. As such, he is a highly adaptable leader with skills and experience on Data Analytics & Visualizations, Financial Modelling, Digital Innovation and People Management.

His accomplishments in the past includes the launch of first reverse mortgage insurance and first index based insurance in France (2008), the set-up of a bancassurance joint-venture in Indonesia (2012-2015) with positive P&L after 3 years, the initiation of an organizational and digital transformation of a half century old claims organization in the Philippines (2016-2017).

Mike Chen, Ph.D.

Dr. Chen is a Portfolio Manager at PanAgora. In this role he is responsible for novel alpha research and model development in the Dynamic team and across the wider Equity group, and daily management of firm’s Dynamic portfolios. Dr. Chen is also responsible for leading the development of PanAgora’s ESG strategy, including alpha research, portfolio management, and model and product development. Dr. Chen’s research interests are in the areas of machine learning, ESG, and alternative datasets. Previously, he was a portfolio manager at PanAgora’s Stock Selector team.

Prior to joining PanAgora, Dr. Chen was a Portfolio Manager at BlackRock’s Scientific Active Equity (SAE) team, where his responsibilities include portfolio management and research into alpha insights for use across the entire SAE platform. While at SAE, Dr. Chen won “Signal of the Year” award for a signal he researched and developed. Prior to BlackRock, Dr. Chen worked at Google where he was a member of the team that managed Google’s fixed income investment portfolio and FX exposures. Dr. Chen started his career at Morgan Stanley in New York where he traded and managed a portfolio of exotic US rates derivatives. While at Morgan Stanley, Dr. Chen researched, developed and patented a framework that allowed for pricing of derivatives based on two rate curves with dynamic multiplicative spread, one of the first such models on the street.  

Dr. Chen graduated from the University of Illinois in 2005 with a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has published in leading engineering and applied mathematics journals, and had been invited to talk at numerous conferences.

Currently, he is with the global financial services group Prudential plc as the Regional Director of Technology Innovation for Asia. Chun is also an honorary Adjunct Professor at City University of Hong Kong, where he previously served as its Chief Information Officer and was an Associate Professor. Chun received numerous AI and ICT awards, including the HK CIO Award and the Top 5 Greater China CIO Award. He is also a senior advisor to the HK Government on AI and IT strategies. He is a Council Member of the Hong Kong Computer Society and serves as the Convenor for its AI Specialist Group, promoting AI and advising the Government on policies. Chun holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and attended executive MBA training at Boston University.

Roger Fahy

He joined TIAA from Fidelity, where he spent 22 years in IT roles of increasing responsibility and most recently served as the Head of Technology Strategy & Planning.  His notable accomplishments include establishing and implementing the enterprise-wide strategic direction for the IT organization, including the shift of $700 million of expense out of the existing IT cost base; leading the delivery of customer-oriented, integrated platforms and experiences across all areas of the company, while working closely with Fidelity’s executive leadership team.

Prior to joining Fidelity, Darrell worked at Keane, Inc., as a consultant and JR Medical Search as a programmer/analyst, he holds a BA in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from Villanova University.  Darrell has been an active mentor in the Women’s Unlimited LEAD program and is a member of the advisory boards of the University of New Hampshire’s College of Engineering & Physical Sciences, SCRUM.ORG, and the Waterville Valley Foundation, and is also the Treasurer of the Waterville Valley Historical Society.

Sumit Kumar

Sumit Kumar is the regional Head of Trade Execution Technology and Lead Architect for the Asia Pacific Equities (APAC) technology function at Credit Suisse. Sumit is a well-established expert on Low Latency Software Development and he is one of the pioneers of Model Driven Development in Credit Suisse. Notably, he led Messaging Abstraction Layer and Low Latency Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) stack development for the bank in his prior roles. David Hardoon

Prior to his current roles, David was Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) first appointed Chief Data Officer and Head of Data Analytics Group reporting to the agency Deputy Managing Director for Financial Supervision and subsequently Special Advisor (Artificial Intelligence) reporting to Deputy Managing Director for Markets and Development. David has extensive exposure and experience in both industry and academia and he has consistently applied advanced technology with an analytical mindset to shape and deliver new innovation. David holds a PhD in Computer Science in the field of Machine Learning from the University of Southampton and graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with First Class Honors B.Sc. in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. Out in the "field", David is more likely to consider himself a data artist instead of a pure data scientist.

Prior to his current appointment, Mr Leung was Chief Information & Operations Officer of China CITIC Bank International since December 2013. As a C-suite executive, he managed the Bank’s IT, Operations, Corporate Services, and the FinTech Innovation Center which built the first non-face-to-face remote account opening App in HK. Concurrently he was a member of the Board as well as Audit Committee and Compliance Committee of CITIC Bank International (China) Ltd.

Earlier on Mr Leung spent 14 years with Bank of America (Asia) and China Construction Bank (Asia), reaching the position of Deputy Chief Executive. His banking career also includes Standard Chartered Bank and Dao Heng Bank (now DBS).

Mr Leung graduated from CUHK in 1978 and is an Engineering Faculty Distinguished Alumni Award recipient. He received the prestigious Philips Scholarship to pursue Master’s degree study in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, followed by a Graduate Diploma (1st honour) in Retail Bank Management from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, USA. Since then he worked in Philips, IBM, Computer Science of Australia and Price Waterhouse, residing in Holland, Sweden, US and Australia before returning to Hong Kong in 1997.

The many public duties Mr Leung has served include President of HK Computer Society, Exco Member and FinTech Committee Chair of HK Institute of Bankers, Adjunct Professor and Information Systems Departmental Advisory Committee Chair of City University, Panel Member of the Research Assessment Exercise of University Grants Committee, Industry Specialist and Panel Chair of HK Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, Chairman of HK Down Syndrome Association, among others.  In 2016 Mr Leung received a Medal of Honour (MH) in recognition of his contribution to the society.

Previously, I was head of FinTech & Data at Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX), Technology group. In the area of FinTech, I led SGX's efforts in various proof of concepts involving blockchain and machine learning, represented SGX in several of Singapore's SMART nation initiatives such as project Ubin, and drove the internal innovation program. As for Data, I led the successful transformation of SGX into a data-driven organization by executing the enterprise data strategy so as to extract maximum value from SGX's data assets. I re-architected the data infrastructure to centralize all the business data within a high performance data warehouse. I then managed all the data within the data warehouse to ensure data quality and accuracy for downstream applications and consumers. I also introduced new concepts such as integrated applications, data democracy and distributed sandboxes. Finally, I instituted a data science practice to leverage machine learning, quantitative finance, advanced data analytics and real-time data visualization.

Before transferring to technology, I was head of Data & Analytics at SGX Derivatives business unit where I had supported the growth of SGX’s derivatives business by providing the sales and product managers with data insights to make better informed decisions. I also designed and developed a major application to streamline much of a critical business workflow to improve the productivity and efficiency. I also led SGX’s efforts in areas such as data visualisation, gamification, automation, quantitative finance and research in market microstructure and high frequency trading.

In his role, Dominic focuses on Financial Markets FinTech, the team’s UK/EU strategy and client engagement. He is also a founding UK member and SC Ventures lead for Standard Chartered’s UK eXellerator, an innovation lab dedicated to improving customer experiences and increasing efficiency through collaboration.


He joined Standard Chartered in September 2009 through the Management Associates program. He has held a number of front office markets roles, as well as treasury and business management roles at Standard Chartered and JPMorgan in New York. Dominic started his career as a lawyer in Silicon Valley working with start-ups and investors, as well as public technology companies. He has also worked with early stage start-ups looking for business model development and funding.


Dominic holds an MBA and a Juris Doctorate and is currently a licensed (inactive) lawyer in California. Dominic has lived and worked in the US, UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Prior to joining Manulife Investment Management, Eric led the Sustainable Finance initiatives for Asia-Pacific at S&P Global where he helped to develop and launch the ESG Evaluation Framework.  He worked closely with analysts across the region to evaluate ESG exposures in corporate and infrastructure entities. Before joining the Sustainable Finance team, he covered various sectors as a credit ratings analyst at S&P in both the United States and Asia. Beate (van Loo-) Born is currently Head of Strategic Projects at UBS Wealth Management in Zürich. She runs global regulatory initiatives (e.g. MiFIDII implementation), large platform projects and ad hoc responses to geopolitical events (e.g. Brexit). With 17 years of experience in operational risk, change and regulatory management in financial services in Europe, Asia and Australia she recently set a professional and academic focus on sustainability and data in banking.

Beate is a member of the EDM council’s ESG Committee and active within the Women in Data network, she is frequently appears as a guest speaker at industry conferences. Most recent papers include  ‘Regulatory Equivalence’, Client Advisor Barriers to Sustainable Investing’ and ‘Operational Risk Management during the Covid-19 Crisis’.

Beate has completed Master’s degrees at the Sorbonne in Paris and at the Clark University Business School of Management in Massachusetts as well as an Executive Degree at the Swiss Finance Institute in Zürich. She is certified in Financial Market Regulation by the University of Zürich and is currently obtaining a Master’s degree at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.

In addition to that, Michel is also the digital business lead for Maybank Indonesia that responsible to execute the digital strategy of the bank. Michel has 16+ years working experience working in multi-national organization such as Accenture, EY, Commonwealth Bank, Rabobank and Oracle. Michel has deep business and technology exposure in banking, insurance, telecommunication and retail domain industry.

Nadeem Shamim

Nadeem brings over 30 years of experience in treasury, cash and liquidity management within transaction banking and treasury consulting, across Europe and Asia. Prior to joining SmartStream, Nadeem held a manging director role at Standard Chartered Bank with responsibility for corporate treasury solutions.  He has held advisory positions at several FinTech startups.  Previous to this, he worked at J.P. Morgan as Head of Financial Institutions Group EMEA, Treasury Services, focusing on regulations and cash management. Nadeem brings with him solid experience of strategic advisory and innovative thinking in bank transformation, treasury risk management, FinTech and supply chain financing.

Vincent is responsible for the business direction and management of all products through their product lifecycle from inception to delivery.

Vincent bring with him more than 30 years of industry experience in leading and advising financial and technology organisations. He started his career as an analyst programmer for a Bank of Ireland, before spending a number of years designing and implementing a variety of retail banking, trading and equity settlement systems for Anglo Irish Bankcorp. More specifically he has led the development and deployment of enterprise-wide projects in the areas of retail banking, trading and risk.

Prior to joining SmartStream, Vincent has held senior roles in product strategy, pre-sales and product development for leading financial technology organisations, including: Sungard (FIS), Misys (Finastra), Trema (Ion-Trading) and SAS.

Vincent holds a BSc in Computer Applications from Dublin City University and a PhD in Artificial Intelligence.

Mr. McIntyre has more than 15 years of experience in performance measurement and risk analytics, primarily as a practitioner but also in sales, client services, and product development. Prior, he served as global head of BISAM GO commercial proposition and his previous practitioner roles include senior performance and risk positions within UBS Global Asset Management, Northern Trust, and Schroders.

Melanie has extensive buy-side experience built through her roles as FX and Fixed Income Execution Trader as well as Head of Execution Trading desk.  Prior to MarketAxess, over the last ten years, she worked at Pictet Asset Management and AIA Investment Management in Singapore.

Melanie holds a master’s degree in Financial Markets.

Christine Nolan is the Head of Trading Technologies with MarketAxess.  Ms. Nolan joined MarketAxess in 2001 as one of the firm’s first employees.  In her nearly twenty-year career with the firm, she has helped develop the technology that is revolutionizing the fixed income markets, including the award-winning all-to-all Open Trading™ marketplace.  As a senior technologist, Ms. Nolan manages teams of application developers and system engineers across the globe.  Most recently, Ms. Nolan spearheaded MarketAxess’ transition to Agile, which is now fully adopted across the firm.  Additionally, Ms. Nolan is a founding member of the “Women in Tech” networking group at MarketAxess.  Ms. Nolan’s prior roles have included software development positions with financial technology and asset firms, including AXA Financial. 

Ms. Nolan holds a B.S. in Computer Science from New York University’s Polytechnic School of Engineering. 

Kat Tatochenko

Kat Tatochenko is the Head of Global Data Product with MarketAxess. Kat joined MarketAxess a year ago, where she now manages a team of twenty-five people across the globe. Her goal is to develop innovative data solutions that untimely deliver efficiency and cost savings to end investors around the world. In her twenty-year career in the data business, Kat first worked as a financial analyst at DLJ and then spent eleven years at Thomson Reuters in a variety of business development and sales roles. After leaving Thomson Reuters, she spent seven years at Bloomberg where she managed an international data sales team and was responsible for some of the firm’s top tier clients.

Kat is also a passionate skier and has interior design as hobby, she loves bringing old houses back to life.

Kat holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Math & Statistics, and Economics from Stony Brook University in New York.

Lee has over 15 years of experience in actuarial, AI / data analytics, research and consulting roles at primary insurers, reinsurers and independent consulting. Lee heads the regional AI-analytics centre of competence, located in Singapore, covering the Life & Health Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa business of Munich Re. Lee’s team has multiple projects across the region that are creating tangible value for insurers through AI and predictive analytics which integrate Munich Re’s AI expertise with its domain knowledge and technologies into AI and digital services. Specialist skills include AI and predictive analytics, actuarial pricing, epidemiological and demographic modelling, analysis of medical scheme cohort data and healthcare intervention cost-effectiveness. His Master’s degree, presented at the 2014 International Congress of Actuaries in Washington D.C., provided many South African insurers with the first credible South African research for underwriting HIV and applied advanced analytics methods to medical scheme and managed care data. Lee is now completing a PhD in AI and advanced analytics, is a member of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and the Actuarial Society of South African where he chairs its Demography & Epidemiology committee.

Brijesh Ammanath is the Global CIO for Trade and Working Capital Technology team spread across Pune and Chennai in India, London, Birmingham and Radbroke in the UK. 
Prior to Trade and Working Capital, Brijesh has played technology leadership roles in Treasury, Legal, Product Control and Market Risk in Barclays. 


Brijesh has strong international work experience having worked for over a decade in London with Merrill Lynch and later with the merged entity BoAML where he was the Technology Delivery Lead for the FX Options business.


Brijesh comes from a strong technology background, which coupled with a keen interest in the business has allowed him to develop and deliver customer centric solutions.
Brijesh’s keen interest in the Trade business and in Operations has ensured that all the technology initiatives have TWC board level support and the team collaborates across functions to drive a successful delivery. Previously as Eagle Investment Systems’ Chief Technology Officer, Steve was responsible for the technology products and helped transform the technology to support a cloud strategy, as well as introduce new data management and platform capabilities.
