Warren Reed is a Data Scientist at the U.S. Treasury's Office of Financial Research (OFR). He leads the OFR's Monitors Program, which is developing interactive tools and a data platform to assess, measure, and monitor risk across the financial system. Before joining the OFR, he was a Data Scientist at the start up, Gro Intelligence, and a quantitative trader at Barclays Capital. He has an M.S. in applied informatics from New York University and a B.S. in chemical engineering from Columbia University.

Josh Stabiner

Josh is a Managing Director, Chief Information Security Officer and Head of Technology Infrastructure based in New York. Prior to joining Pine River, he was a Senior Manager with Ernst & Young from 2005 to 2014 where he led cyber threat management advisory services for financial clients. From 2003 to 2004, he was a Security Administrator and Developer with the Institute for Security Technology Studies as part of the Livewire National Security Exercise, an inter-departmental U.S. government program. Josh received a BA in Computer Science in 2003 and an MS in Computer Science in 2005 from Dartmouth College.

Vishal Sood

Director - Electronic Trading Technology


Vishal Sood is Director in Equities Electronic Trading Technology at Citi. In this role, Vishal is responsible for driving the global vision and strategy for the Electronic Trading stack which includes Client connectivity, Exchange connectivity, Citi's Dark Pools and Market Data platform. Many of these platforms, though originally built for Equities are in use by other asset classes for electronic trading at Citi.

Vishal joined Citi in December 2009. Prior to joining Citi, Vishal worked at Credit Suisse starting as a Technical Associate in the Electronic Trading Division, Head of US Client Connectivity and Global Head of Client and FIX Connectivity.

Matthew Joseph


Head of the Jersey City Innovation Center

Matt Joseph is the Head of the Jersey City Innovation Center at BNY Mellon. His responsibilities include innovation projects, improving developer productivity, client engagement, startup community engagement, NEXEN strategy, talent engagement, and more.  Matt is a self-described “geek” who is passionate about technology, equally at ease with writing code, testing products, and iterating on the user experience.

Prior to his role at the Innovation Center, Matt was part of BNY Mellon's Enterprise Business Architecture team.  He has worked on a variety of strategic projects, including business architecture analysis, analytics platform onboarding and cloud migration..


Luis Valdich

Managing Director, Venture Capital Investing


Luis Valdich joined Citi Ventures in late 2015 as a Managing Director and leads its New York office and venture capital investing activities in the US east of the Rockies and in Europe.

Luis is currently focused in Fintech, ecommerce and big data/analytics applications relevant to financial services. Luis actively looks for opportunities to invest in innovative startups that are pioneering new business models and technologies that intersect with Citi's businesses and where Citi can eventually add value via a commercial relationship as a user, service provider and/or partner which in turn can help Citi innovate. As such, Luis actively partners with the venture capital and startup ecosystems and with Citi businesses and functions firmwide.

From 2008 to 2015, Luis founded and ran JPMorgan Chase's Strategic Investments group; he was part of the investment committee, made over 40 investments, and participated in several boards. Previously Luis was a consultant at McKinsey and venture capital principal at Softbank.

Luis received his MBA from Harvard University and BA from Franklin & Marshall College.

Keith Lubell

Keith Lubell is Chief Technology Officer at Berkery Noyes. Since 2002, Keith has been developing an application and database of the Mergers and Acquisitions marketplace, encompassing more than 47,000 transactions and 123,000 companies in the software and information industry, including a toolset to understand business models and identify short and long-term trends. Berkery Noyes uses this application to generate market reports and to host live access to the data via http://mandasoft.com. Prior to Berkery Noyes, Keith worked as Director of Application Development at Valinor - Ikon Office Solutions, where he obtained certifications as a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, Microsoft Certified System Engineer and Microsoft Certified Trainer. Earlier in his career, Keith worked on radar training simulators for Electronic Warfare Environments for the Department of Defense. As an inventor, Keith holds a US patent for a "Method of Displaying Enhanced Three-Dimensional Images," and has published in Microsoft Certified Professional Magazine and American Journal of Physics. Keith earned a B.A. degree in Physics from Middlebury College.

Ted Pendleton

Ted has 22+ years of experience leading business development, sales, and growth within early stage technology companies, the last 14 years in FinTech. Ted joins AlphaPoint from Sybenetix, where he expanded the UK-based behavioral analytics company into the US. Prior to Sybenetix, Ted ran Business and Corporate Development for Numerix, a market-leading derivatives analytics company. Ted helped the company realize 15x revenue growth while driving the Partnerships channel growth to over half of this total. He established and oversaw the firm's 90 partnerships, which include relationships with some of the world's largest trading and risk systems, data vendors, valuation service organizations, value added resellers, and auditors - including Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, Misys, Northern Trust, Microsoft, IBM, Sapient, and Ernst & Young.

William (Bill) Murphy

William (Bill) Murphy is a Senior Managing Director and the Chief Technology Officer at Blackstone, leading the Blackstone Innovations and Infrastructure team. Mr. Murphy is responsible for the firm's technology efforts. Prior to joining Blackstone in 2011, Mr. Murphy was founding Chief Technology Officer for Capital IQ. Mr. Murphy was responsible for overseeing all product design, development, infrastructure and technology support and was involved with all operations of the business. Before Capital IQ, Mr. Murphy led teams at Sapient, delivering solutions for large clients primarily in financial services. He received a BSE in Computer Science from the University of Pennsylvania.


William R. Harts

Chief Executive Officer


Bill Harts is the CEO of the Modern Markets Initiative, the advocacy organization devoted to the role of technological innovation in creating the world's best markets. He is known in the financial services industry as a pioneer of algorithmic trading as well as an authority on financial market structure and applied technology for trading.

As Managing Director and Head of Equity Strategy for Bank of America Securities, he was responsible for development of the firm's electronic and algorithmic trading businesses, including its industry-leading Electronic Algorithmic Strategy Execution, InstaQuote direct market access product, and the Quantitative Strategies research group. He was Chairman of the Bank's NYSE Specialist business, guiding it through an especially tumultuous reinvention process.

Prior to joining the bank, Mr. Harts held the position of Executive Vice President for Corporate Strategy for The NASDAQ Stock Market, Inc.

Mr. Harts created the industry's first fully automated market making operation for Salomon Smith Barney/Citigroup, and was head of the Global Program Trading Department with responsibility for desks in New York, London and Tokyo. Prior to that, he was a consultant to Goldman, Sachs & Co. for three years with Fischer Black in their Quantitative Strategies Group developing equity derivative trading systems.

Mr. Harts was a member of the SEC's Special Advisory Committee on Market Information and a member of the Nasdaq UTP Advisory Committee. He has spoken at the SIFMA Annual Conference, the FPL Americas Electronic Trading Conference, the Securities Industry Association Market Structure Conference, and the Baruch College Zicklin School of Business' Regulation of U.S. Equity Markets Conference. He is an occasional guest lecturer at Columbia Business School.

Mr. Harts served as a Director and Vice Chairman of the Board of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange from 1994 through 1999.

Mr. Harts holds a B.S. in Business Management and Economics from the State University of New York.

Megan Brewer

Group CIO Strategy & Architecture


Megan Brewer is the Head of Innovation within Group CIO Strategy focused on connecting Credit Suisse business divisions and corporate functions to the FinTech ecosystem and driving innovation across the bank. Her team enables both business and technology innovation teams by providing accelerated learning opportunities, intelligence offerings and support in collaborating with FinTechs and other emerging technology firms. Megan manages Credit Suisse's Plug and Play tech accelerator partnership in Silicon Valley including their intensive mentoring and matchmaking of startup companies to internal stakeholders. Prior to this role, Megan worked in Investment Banking Technology Strategy team and served in a number of program and project management roles across Fixed Income Technology. Before joining Credit Suisse, Megan held a number of project management and business analysis positions at GE Capital.



Uday Shankar



As the BNY Mellon's Chief Information Officer for Wealth Management Technology, Uday Shankar is responsible for managing all aspects of technology and building new solutions for the Wealth Management, including back office systems, portfolio management and trading, account management and client digital platforms. Uday is also a member of the company's Operating Committee.

Uday has more than 25 years of experience in financial services technology spanning various sell side business lines such as derivatives trading, structured products, FX/options, loan origination and trading, wealth and asset management, and banking. He previously led architecture and back office technology at Scudder Investments and Deutsche Asset Management. At Morgan Stanley, Uday worked in architecture roles and was the Head of the Managed Money/Advisory and Banking technology groups. Prior to that, he also served as the founding CTO for a loan trading startup focused on building solutions for primary originations and secondary syndications for distressed and par debt.

Uday has a Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Varanasi, India. He also holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science and a second Master's Degree in Operations Research, both from the University of Texas, Dallas. He is the owner of U.S. patent # 8498921 for a financial product he built at Morgan Stanley.

Anthony is a Managing Director and head of the Global Information Technology group at MacKay Shields. He graduated from New York University with a BS in Information Systems Management and from Fordham University with an MS in Computer Science. Anthony also holds an Advanced Certificate in Financial Econometrics and Data Analysis from the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences at Fordham University. He regularly speaks at various technology conferences and is significantly involved with the Computer Science program at Fordham University. David Kelly

David is a Partner, Chief Information Officer and Co-Chief Operating Officer. He is a member of the firm's Operating Committee and Human Capital Committee. Prior to joining Pine River, David was the Chief Technology Officer of the Enterprise Division at Thomson Reuters from 2010 to 2012. From 2001 to 2010, David worked at SAC Capital Advisors, where he ultimately served as a Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer.

David was responsible for all aspects of the firm's technology strategy, including infrastructure and development. From 1996 to 2001, David worked for Barclays Capital in a variety of positions including Head of Technology for the Americas. From 1994 to 1996, David worked for JP Morgan Chase as Associate of Global Technology of Operations, and from 1992 to 1994 David worked for Unilever as a Programmer/Analyst. David received an MS in Information Systems from Pace University in 1994 and a BS in Business Administration and Management Information Systems from Boston University in 1991. Before becoming CEO of Algomi, Stu was Managing Director, Global Head of Matched Principal Trading in Fixed Income at UBS. In 2010 - Stu launched UBS PIN-FI - the first internaliser model in Fixed Income at a global investment bank, covering bonds and CDS.

Prior to this, Stu held various senior roles in Fixed Income both at UBS and Merrill Lynch, in addition to having served as a board member of Tradeweb and of Baymarkets, the OTC trading system vendor.

Stu holds an MPhil from Cambridge University.


Louis Lovas

Louis Lovas is the Director of Solutions at OneMarketData where his responsibilities include strategic business development and delivering targeted solutions for quantitative research and trading systems. Louis brings over 20 years of experience in developing cutting edge solutions for financial markets and is a leading voice on industry trends, trading technology and data management for Capital Markets. Prior to joining OneMarketData, Louis was the Chief Architect and Fellow of Apama products (formerly from) Progress Software. Earlier in his career, Louis held numerous positions in the Financial Systems and Corporate Program Management divisions at Unisys Corporation (formerly Burroughs). Louis has a B.S in Business Administration/Management.


Elliot Noma


Founder and Managing Director

Dr. Noma is the founder of Garrett Asset Management, a systematic trading firm that uses technical systems to invest in futures, ETFs, and currencies. Dr. Noma is also a Senior Risk Consultant with Asset alliance. He consults on a variety of financial issues involving portfolio management, hedge fund due diligence, trading systems, risk management, fund of hedge funds, and operational due diligence. Dr. Noma is a member of the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) examination committee within the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP). Prior to founding Garrett Asset Management, Dr. Noma was the portfolio manager for the BTOP50 fund, a diversified portfolio of global macro, commodity, and managed futures programs. He was a member of the Asset Alliance Investment Committee that oversees all fund of funds investments for Asset Alliance. Dr. Noma was also the Chief Risk Officer at Asset Alliance. In that role he was responsible for the risk oversight of Asset Alliance's single- and multi-manager product offerings. Dr. Noma graduated from Dartmouth College in 1972 with a BA in Mathematics. He received M.A’s in Mathematics and Psychology in 1979 and a Ph.D in Mathematical Psychology in 1982 from The University of Michigan. In 1990, Dr. Noma received an Advanced Professional Certificate in Finance from New York University. Dr. Noma also spent four years in the psychology faculty at Rutgers University (1983 – 1986) and his research has been published in numerous industry journals and scholarly periodicals.

Sonny Saksena



Mr. Saksena is the Principal for Maihar Capital, a private investment office focused on developing investment strategies that can preserve capital while generating prudent risk adjusted returns. Maihar Group is asset class agnostic and considers direct investments, co-investments and external manager allocations. Current focus includes (i) Providing bespoke liquidity solutions to investors challenged with illiquid portfolios, PE/HF secondaries, and stranded/esoteric assets; (ii) Orchestrating direct private capital/real assets solutions and special situation investments; and (iii) Developing liquid investments program.

Prior to Maihar Capital, Mr. Saksena served as the Managing Director for Finles, one of the oldest fund manager in the Netherlands. Mr. Saksena has extensive experience in developing investment portfolios and realizing value from difficult to price investments. He has led multiple efforts to reposition complex alternative investment portfolios, realize value from stranded assets and evaluate/orchestrate cross-border investments.

Mr. Saksena started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Consulting and provided consulting services to many Fortune 500 companies, including AT&T, Avaya, Alcatel, and Comcast. Mr. Saksena has pioneered and developed methodologies to analyze/envision internet traffic, customer behavior and complexity. Mr. Saksena has received education at Government Engineering College, Rollins College, Harvard Business School (HBS) and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Sarah Biller

Sarah Biller is very active in the FinTech community. Sarah is the co-Founder of the FinTech Sandbox and currently sits on its Board of Directors. She is also an Entrepreneur, Advisor, Investor and teaches a graduate level course on the evolution of Financial Technology at Brandeis University.

Sarah was also most recently the Head of Innovation Ventures at State Street Bank's Global Exchange division and its Chief Operating Officer for Innovation. Prior to joining State Street, Sarah has been a Principal in the launch of several successful venture-backed start-ups in the FinTech and Life Sciences sectors. Most recently she was the Co-Founder and President of Capital Market Exchange (CMX), a venture-backed predictive analytics platform utilizing investor sentiment to help bond investors anticipate near-term changes in spreads.

Sarah has also held roles at Fidelity Investments; worked on MCI's corporate venture team; and launched and led research divisions for Fortune 500 CFO's and treasurers at the Corporate Executive Board. Ms. Biller studied Finance at West Virginia University and George Washington University.

Philippe Burke

Philippe C. Burke, Portfolio Manager.  Prior to Apache Capital, Philippe was a Principal and head of Global Leveraged Strategies at Morgan Stanley (1997-98). Philippe joined Morgan from Lehman Brothers where he was a SVP (1991-97) and held the positions of Proprietary Trader, head Derivative Strategist, senior Structured Bond Trader, and head of Structured Swaps during his tenure.  Philippe has a MSc. in Economics from the London School of Economics, and a MBA (honors) from the University of Chicago.
